Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half-Sovereign, 1880, fifth young head left, deeper upcurve to truncation, hair bun closer to G, type A5 with die number, date below, Latin legend surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF: die number 110 below (Hill 455A R; Bull EGC.1288; MCE.455; S.3860F). lightly toned with surface marks, digs and striations from past cleaning, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as AU details cleaned.

NGC certification 8368642-017 (the only AU details graded example on NGC currently)

Calendar year mintage 1,008,362 - figure for total of all types of 1880 and a much small number of 455A are known
