Sovereigns were discovered in the North of England. There were 250 coins in the collection, and each one was struck in 1914. Thought to have been buried in the early war years, each half sovereign has been preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated Condition. This
1914 Hoard Half Sovereign features the portrait of King George V on the obverse, and the reverse shows the iconic St George and the Dragon design first created by Benedetto Pisrucci in 1817.
