Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half-Sovereigns, 1872, second young head left, nose points nearer to T in repositioned legend, transitional type A2 with die number, with date below, Latin legend surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, coarse toothed border around rim, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, die number 79, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF: (Hill 446D R2; Bull EGC.-; MCE.-; S.3860C). Surface marks and hairlines, slabbed and graded by NGC as XF details removed from jewellery.
