Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half-Sovereign, 1871, second young head left, nose points nearer to T in repositioned legend, transitional type A2 with die number, with date below, Latin legend surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, coarse toothed border around rim, I of DEI points to bead, last I of legend to bead, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, die number 53 below, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF: (Hill 446C R2; Bull EGC.-; MCE.-; S.3860C). Toned with some surface marks, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as AU53, very rare.
